PRESS RELEASE – April 2, 2014 - We urge you to celebrate our planet with an afternoon of live music, recycled art and puppetry as Innisfree’s Hyatt Place Hotel (located at the Pensacola Airport) partners with Team Green World and the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival to present the 2nd Annual Uptown Pensacola Earth Day Concert & Celebration.
On Saturday, April 12, 2014 from Noon to 5 p.m., the Dillard’s Wing of Pensacola’s Cordova Mall – located at 5100 N. 9th Avenue – will stage a lineup of concerts, dance performances and puppet shows in honor of Earth Day. Hyatt Place Pensacola Airport is proud to sponsor the event, bringing what Team Green World calls “eco-edutainment” to the community.
“As a sponsor of this Earth Day celebration, the Hyatt Place represents our commitment to the community of Pensacola and the planet at large,” says Julian MacQueen, Founder and CEO of Innisfree Hotels. “The Innisfree philosophy has always centered upon respect, both for our guests and for the environment.”
Celebration attendees can expect an earful. Music from Pensacola and Nashville’s finest will be plentiful, as will interactive lessons in conservation, recycling and ‘going green’. New to this year’s event is a Recycled Art Contest for local elementary through high schools students, while Eco the Butterfly will take flight to teach little ones the importance of caring for the Earth.
The day’s schedule follows:
12:30-1:00 Puppet Show – Meet Cool Kat & Cami
1:15 Learn the Lean Green Dancing Machine with Pensacola Dance Factory
2:00-5:00 Nashville Singer-Songwriters Show
Team Green World calls it “music that matters.” We call it a good time – and a good feeling supporting the planet we call home.
