Vice President of Hotel Operations

Michael Nixon assumed his current position in July 2012.  He joined Innisfree Hotels in 1994 as General Manager of the Beachside Resort and Conference Center which was located on the present day site of the Holiday Inn Resort in Pensacola Beach.  While in this position he increased the gross revenue by 61% during the first year of resort operations. He was promoted to Regional Director of Operations in 1998 to oversee Innisfree’s Gulf front hotels in Florida and Alabama.

Mr. Nixon has decades of hospitality experience stretching back to 1984. His expertise includes acquisitions, budget preparation, renovation oversight, capital improvement and sales and marketing. Mr. Nixon has been a court-appointed receiver for three properties in Alabama and Florida. He is a Certified Hospitality Administrator and guest lectures at the University of West Florida on the topics of Hospitality Marketing and Revenue Management. Previous experience includes serving as the General Manager of Bennet’s Reef.

He has an undergraduate degree from Florida State University.
